Faith and Dan’s Shelter Island Ram’s Head Inn micro-wedding was so intimate and lovely with many thanks to Amanda Barbara Events. They had two date changes and went from 200 guests to 30 guests. Two days before the wedding the bride’s beloved brother tested positive for Covid (he’s fine!) and couldn’t come to the wedding and her Aunt and cousins had been with him so they couldn’t come either. This family is so so close (I had the pleasure of photographing her sister, Erin’s, wedding years ago), knowing that they had to cut their guest list down and that close family members couldn’t attend was so sad but being wonderfully positive people, they made the best of it and loved every minute.
The family face-timed her brother in at every chance and even included him in some of the family portraits by holding the iphone up in the photos. Adorable.
One of the best things about micro weddings during this tough terrible time is how close everyone gets. We really become a team and the team will do anything in the world to make the day perfect. Of course, we always feel this way but it’s really palpable right now.
Faith wore a crazy beautiful Essence of Australia dress and carried bright sunshiney blooms arranged by Jenny Wildflower. She also created the most incredible door swag on the front of their house and beautiful dangling blooms hung over all the tables in the reception. And check out the cutest place card bud vases ever.
