What do you get when you cross Karen Lenahan Designs with an interior designer, Kate Hunt, owner of East End Home Co ? An insanely beautiful mystical magical Peconic Bay Yacht Club wedding. I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Kate and Ian at the PBYC on the North Fork of Long Island, on a rainy day in August. Tissues and umbrellas, not optional.
See below for more fun facts about this wedding, learn who their vendors were and check out those details and Kate’s vision in that clear tent. Please, please, everyone–get a dang clear tent!
Kate Burger, who is a designer, had a dream for a romantic woodsy wedding and worked tirelessly on her specific vision for the design and layout of the tent. Having no wedding planner, she had to be very specific; she even made the floor plan and the individual table plan. Karen Lenahan’s team did an amazing job with the setup of the tables and brought Kate and Ian’s vision to life (or is it “vision to light”?).
The vintage tool boxes were sourced at Brimfield and local North Fork flea markets and the tables were dressed with succulents and garlands that Kate purchased at the flower market. The head table was dressed with whimsical wildflowers and vintage bottles. The table was antique barn table and the arbor was built by her father. Her father also rolled up with two vintage cars to transport the wedding party, family, and the couple to the ceremony area in the woods. I love that this club has a lovely quiet woodsy area with a beautiful view of the water on the property.
